Enriched in Everything
Poverty is not from God. Poverty, the state of being unable to meet basic needs like adequate food, clean water, shelter, and safety, envelopes the earth. Billions of people struggle to survive daily. Not only do they struggle, they struggle in hopelessness. They see no way out, no way up, no way over the difficulties they were born into. In some cultures poverty is the only state they have known for centuries. Children are born into slavery, into a continuous condition of lack and peril and fear. They live out their lives in poverty and the next generation often perpetuates the slavery to poverty. Every nation has poverty grinding its foundations. Even the super rich middle east petroleum kingdoms have not eradicated poverty from their people. Having excess money does not mean freedom from poverty. Poverty is a condition of the heart that money cannot cure.
The only way to truly eradicate poverty is to believe and obey God. Poverty is a key component of the curse of sin that was released into the earth when Adam sinned in the garden of Eden. The curse includes death, sickness and disease, and poverty. Death is eternal separation from God, and involves your spirit being. Sickness and disease are the fruits of death released into our being by the curse. Poverty is rooted in the heart and designates the limits of our life. There is much overlap in how the curse affects us all but the point is the curse will kill every part of the spirit, soul, and body of a person. The only way out of the curse of sin is to repent of our sin and ask God for forgiveness. Living in obedience to God prevents the curse of poverty from devouring you. Disobedience to the Lord opens the door to poverty in your life. That is outside the topic of this article but must be mentioned for foundation and context.
God is the source of the BLESSING. He has no poverty anywhere in His Kingdom. All those who follow Jesus Christ completely (many say so or appear to but the proof is in the manifestation of the BLESSING) are free from poverty, or are being made free day by day. Satan is the source of poverty and has no wealth anywhere in his kingdom. Many who follow Satan appear wealthy in monetary terms but their soul is devoid of God.
We are either BLESSED or cursed. We live under the BLESSING of God, or we live under the curse of sin. Just like day and night have periods or spaces where they seem to meet or blend, so it is in our lives. We may be partially blessed in some areas, yet labor in pain in others. Our lives are reflections of the deity we serve. Our lives model what we believe. Do you believe you are blessed? Do you know how to receive the BLESSING God has offered you? Can you see that poverty is not just lacking money or shelter? The level of BLESSING operating in your life is determined by YOU. God has given it to you but you must believe Him and obey Him to receive it. The level of curse operating in your life is determined by YOU. Satan has authority to activate the curse in your life based on what you do and say. Obeying the devil’s ideas and concepts keeps you cursed and in poverty. Let’s look at how to break free from poverty. It starts in your heart.
2 Corinthians 9:11 (NKJV) while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.
God is outside of time and space. These are His Words about every person on earth. The promises of God are YES! And AMEN! for all those in Christ (2 Cor 1:20). Anyone can move from outside of Christ and His promises to inside Christ with access to all His promises. The only way to gain access to Jesus Christ and then the promises is to make Him Lord of your life. Partial obedience, partial submission, selfish lip service Sunday once in a while Christianity is offensive to God and will not change your life. To be truly enriched by God we must give up everything we have to trade for everything He has. Believe me, it is SO worth it! He takes all your fear, all your pain, all your losses, all your debts, all your weaknesses, and gives you Himself. There is no better deal anywhere.
The KJV version reads “being enriched”. Other versions render it “being made wealthy in every way”, “you will be enriched”, and “He will make you rich”. Please remember God thinks differently than you and I. His definition of wealth encompasses material wealth of course, since He created all things we define as having value (eg. gold, silver, oil, timber, livestock, land). But you can have a billion dollars in cash and be dying of cancer. You can have money in the bank and be healthy but have rotten relationships with family or spouses. God’s view of wealth is stated clearly in the verse above. He wants us enriched, made wealthy, caused to become rich, in everything! There is a clear path from poverty to wealth. There is a guaranteed plan that produces increase and success for anyone who chooses to follow it. And God’s will for all of us is that we submit to Him, agree with Him, and follow His plan. As we seek Him and obey Him, He will cause the wealth to begin to grow, first in your heart, then outwardly in every area of our life.
Here are some more verses that show God’s heart about every one of His children being made rich in His eyes.
1 Corinthians 1:5 (NKJV) that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge,
Proverbs 3:9–10 (NKJV) 9) Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10) So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.
3 John 2 (NKJV) Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
Proverbs 10:22 (NKJV) The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.
Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV) “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
There are many more verses in the Bible that reveal God’s will for all His people is unimaginable wealth in every dimension and every category. Read about Abraham, King David, King Hezekiah, the Apostle Paul, and King Solomon. These men (and millions more) were blessed by God so much it is written down for us to read about forever! Wealth is a significant part of our covenant with God. In Deut 8:18 it specifically declares that our covenant with God is not established, not completed, not done yet, until we have received supernatural grace and wisdom and insights from God that make us wealthy.
Here is another angle for you to consider. God says we are made in His image (Gen 1:26-28), we shall look like Him and be like Him (1John 3:2), and we are to grow up in Him in all things to become like Jesus Christ (Eph 4:15). With that in m ind, let’s read Ephesians 4:13.
Ephesians 4:13 (NKJV) till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
Every person who maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is destined to measure up to the standard of Christ Himself. Every person who pursues God according to His Word will mature and grow and attain the stature of Jesus Christ. Within that framework it is impossible to do that without becoming supernaturally wealthy. God is self-existent, meaning He requires nothing else to survive and thrive. His goal is to bring every believer of Him into that same state of requiring nothing else but Him to survive and thrive. We will come into unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God. That knowledge includes how to get out of debt, how to maintain healthy relationships, how to solve every problem on earth. Jesus Christ could personally pay every debt on earth right now and not even notice the dip in His resources! He could pay off all national debt for every nation, every dollar of corporate debt, and all personal debt, in a heartbeat, and still enjoy unlimited wealth. And He will, when people on earth begin to trust Him and obey Him like never before.
The death of Jesus and His subsequent resurrection absolved all our debt. We owed a debt for sin we could not pay. Thank you Jesus for your amazing mercy and kindness to all of us who have belittled You and ignored You. Do you honestly think He could pay off your sin debt and leave you with a mortgage and credit card debt? NO! Redemption is absolute and complete. He must deliver us from death, from sickness and disease, and from poverty and lack, before He can bring us into the fullness of Himself. There is zero debt in His Kingdom. There is no lack anywhere God rules. If He was allowed to rule in our hearts He would bring us out of all lack and poverty and weakness into His supernatural BLESSING. This is being enriched in everything through our relationship with the Living God.
Prayer for Repentance and Salvation.
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and your Saviour, I invite you to ask Him into your heart. If you knew the Lord but have not been hungering for Him I invite you to consider your ways and repent. He is faithful and righteous to wipe your slate clean when you confess your sin to Him! (1 John 1:9)
1 John 1:9 (NASB95) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
He gave His life for you, and you honour Him when you give your life for Him. It is the right thing to do!
1 Corinthians 6:20 (AV) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
You must give yourself to God for Him to come into your life and help you change. He will not force you! Ever. But oh! The joy and peace and hope He gives you!
Romans 12:1–2 (NKJV) 1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2) And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 10:9 (NKJV) that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
You must acknowledge Jesus Christ is Lord, and you must believe He was resurrected from the dead by the Father.
Say this prayer out loud.
Heavenly Father I turn to you and acknowledge You as the Almighty God, eternal and sovereign over all. I have been rebellious, selfish, and deceived trying to live without You. I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died on the cross to redeem me from death and sin, and that He rose from the dead, alive forever with You. I ask you to forgive me of all my sin, known and unknown. Please come into my life as my Lord and my Saviour. Thank you for forgiving me, and redeeming me from sin. I choose to trust You and put You first in every area of my life. I will love You and serve You with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind, and all my resources, for the rest of my life, beginning right now. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen!
If you prayed this to the Lord, please let me know! I have some resources to share with you, and will help you on your journey with the Lord.
